About the course of study

The Bachelor’s degree studies in pedagogy have a humanistic and practical character. In the study programme there are many philosophical, psychological, sociological subjects, thanks to which the students gain, among other things: comprehensive knowledge about the human being, about his/her development, about social life and about solving various interpersonal problems.

They become intellectually, emotionally and morally more open to every human being. Training in pedagogical subjects brings students competence for practical activities in various fields. The study specialisations have been selected as expected by future employers. It is also worthwhile to study pedagogy for, among other things, self-development, self-confidence and the ability to cope with stress. Graduates of pedagogy do well in the labour market.

Re-socialisation pedagogy with addiction prevention

students are familiar with the problems of preventive and rehabilitation work. They are competent in diagnosing re-socialisation activities, prevention and care. They are prepared to work for children, adolescents, adults, families, environments and social groups showing social maladjustment and in need of various forms of educational, preventive, therapeutic and re-socialisation support.

Care and educational pedagogy with social gerontology

students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for didactic, caring, upbringing, re-socialisation and therapeutic work; they are prepared to carry out various forms of care and upbringing in various periods of human life, including specialised work with seniors in institutions oriented at work with the elderly: nursing homes, day care centres, seniors’ clubs, cultural institutions for seniors, in local government and non-governmental institutions. It is prepared to work as, a community pedagogue, in a children’s home, a day care centre, a child and family care centre, a day care centre, a psychological-pedagogical counselling centre, a centre for social support and developmental risks, in non-governmental organisations and educational administration and, after obtaining teaching qualifications, to work as a school pedagogue and a boarding school teacher.
