The Józef Goluchowski University of Applied Sciences was established in 1996 and is one of the oldest Polish private universities. The creator of the university’s concept and its Honorary Rector is Professor Zbigniew Doliwa-Klepacki, one of the pioneers of European integration research in Poland. Our patron is Józef Goluchowski, an outstanding 19th-century Polish philosopher from our region. With its regional character, our university has, since its inception, undertaken ambitious national and international initiatives with a focus on modernity and a practical approach to education. Among our lecturers are well-known specialists in various fields, including people with impressive professional achievements. In the past, the university’s professors included two Polish prime ministers: Józef Oleksy and Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz. Currently, in addition to its headquarters, the University has off-site branches in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Limanowa and Miechów. There are three faculties in the structure of the university: Health Sciences, Social and Technical Sciences and Pedagogical Faculty. We educate at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, while postgraduate studies, including postgraduate studies with an international diploma, play a very important role in our education. For several years now, the number of students taking this form of training has been close to the total number of undergraduate and graduate students. We are constantly striving to modernise our teaching facilities and adapt them to the needs of modern education. Among other things, we have a modern Monoprofile Medical Simulation Centre, modern language training labs and a professional recording studio. In terms of infrastructure and educational programmes, our university is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
What characterises our university is its focus on the practical elements of education, its drive for continuous modernisation and its close contact with the labour market. Referring to universal values, we want to be a modern university with a flexible approach to students and responsive to their most important needs.
