Program
The Erasmus+ program is a European Union initiative that enables students to gain international academic and professional experience. The program offers a variety of opportunities to go on study trips, work placements, and participate in educational projects and exchanges in partner countries around the world. The Erasmus+ program in the field of education, training, youth and sports is a continuation of European educational programs implemented since 1998. The overarching goal of the initiative is to support students and lecturers in improving their competencies through participation in international projects. The European budget of the program for 2021-2027 is as much as 26.2 billion euros. The Erasmus+ Program's National Agency and its implementer in Poland is the Foundation for the Development of the Education System.

The Erasmus+ program provides financial support for institutions and organizations operating in the field of education and training, youth, and sports in Europe. Responding to the challenges outlined by European policy strategic documents (primarily the Europe 2020 strategy), the program aims to contribute to the development of its participants’ skills and increase their employment opportunities, as well as modernize education systems, training, and youth support.
